Jie Ying Lim
Jie Ying Lim serves as Pacific Environment’s Singapore Climate Specialist. She started her career at JTC Corporation, the government agency overseeing Singapore’s industrial development. After five years at JTC, she moved over to Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, where she spent several years developing and reviewing policies to support Singapore’s economic development, designed incentives and policy levers to improve productivity and sustainability in key economic sectors, and drafted policy papers. Jie Ying then transitioned to Smart Nation Singapore, where she developed national sensor polices and “smart city” strategies, as well as implemented Covid response technology during the pandemic. Most recently, Jie Ying spent three years at CNN International Commercial as a senior content strategist, building communications campaigns for clients to support their brands and objectives.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and geography from the University College London and a master’s degree in economics for development from the University of Oxford. Jie Ying is based in Singapore.
